DESCRIPTION
Psilocybe cubensis Tidal Wave Spores
Psilocybe cubensis Tidal Wave is a distinctive hybrid lineage valued in microscopy research for its unique morphology and well-defined spore characteristics. The Tidal Wave variety is believed to originate from selective genetic crosses within the P. cubensis species, commonly associated with the B+ and Penis Envy lineages.
Under microscopic examination, Tidal Wave spores exhibit classic Psilocybe cubensis features, including smooth, ellipsoid to sub-ellipsoid spores with a pronounced apical germ pore. Spore coloration appears dark purplish-brown in mass, consistent with the species.
Average spore dimensions range from approximately 11–14 µm in length and 7–9 µm in width, though minor variation may occur. Basidia are typically four-spored, with cheilocystidia present and no clamp connections observed.
Due to its consistent morphology and clear microscopic features, Tidal Wave spores are well suited for spore measurement, comparative microscopy, and taxonomic study within the Psilocybe genus.
